Contemporary Art Meets the Heritage of the Artists' Colony Dachau

Contemporary Perspectives on the Artists' Colony Dachau

The exhibition “Views & Perspectives” is dedicated to contemporary artistic reactions to the works and traditions of the Artists' Colony Dachau. It focuses on how the artistic heritage of this influential Dachau artist community can be received, interpreted, and rethought from today's perspective.

The center of attention is current artistic positions that engage with the traditional works and established traditions of the Artists' Colony. The exhibition thus connects historical references with a contemporary view and invites the audience to perceive familiar themes in a new context. The title “Views & Perspectives” also refers to different viewpoints and possible perspectives for engaging with Dachau's art history.

Exhibition at the Dachau Gallery

The event location is the Dachau Gallery at Konrad-Adenauer-Straße 3. As an exhibition venue, it offers the suitable framework to make the connection between the works and traditions of the Artists' Colony Dachau and the reactions of contemporary art visible.

Visitors can look forward to an exhibition that does not view historical artistic positions in isolation but contrasts them with current reactions. Thus, a space is created for comparison between traditional modes of expression and today's artistic approaches.
