Painting and Sculpture in Dialogue: Art Connects in Altomünster

The Altomünster Museum presents the exhibition Painting & Sculpture in Dialogue – Art Connects from September 27, 2026, to January 17, 2027. Works by the Polish sculptor Remigiusz Dulko from Oświęcim/Auschwitz encounter works by the painter and writer Fabian Oppolzer from Aichach. The opening reception on Sunday, September 27, 2026, starts at 3 PM.

When Color Meets Volume

The exhibition opens a concentrated dialogue between pictorial surface and sculptural presence. Color, line, and pictorial space relate to material, physicality, and spatial impact. From this juxtaposition arises an artistic experience that sharpens perception and makes the observation of works an experiential process.

Two Artistic Positions in Exchange

Remigiusz Dulko works as a sculptor, while Fabian Oppolzer works as a painter and writer. Their different forms of expression demonstrate how contemporary art can foster connections. Painting and sculpture do not stand isolated next to each other, but respond to each other through form, surface, light, and spatial tension.

Art as a Cultural Connection

The exhibition title is programmatic: Art transcends linguistic and cultural boundaries and creates new perspectives. The presentation is also a symbol of the district partnership between Dachau and Oświęcim. Thus, the curation connects aesthetic experience, cultural education, and a European thought of understanding.

The Altomünster Museum as a Resonance Space

The museum is located in a historically influenced environment closely related to monastic history and the Bridgettine order. The calm exhibition atmosphere supports a concentrated perception of the works. In the interplay of contemporary art and historical surroundings, a tour emerges that connects material aesthetics, art history, and personal contemplation.

Conclusion: An Artistic Experience for Curious Eyes

Visitors can expect an inspiring exhibition about form, color, space, and human connection. Anyone who wants to experience painting and sculpture in a carefully set dialogue and discover contemporary art in a special museum setting should definitely visit the exhibition in Altomünster in person.
